The Service Coordination Connection:
Connecting Service Coordinators, Families, and Appropriate Part C Services

Service Coordination, under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), is provided at no cost to families to assure their rights and procedural safeguards and assist them in accessing appropriate early intervention services.  [303.23 (a)(1)]

Welcome to The Service Coordination Connection!  This page of the TECS website is devoted to the interests of:

  • Service coordinators and other interested Part C service providers.
  • Families who receive service coordination through South Carolina’s Part C program or would like more information on Part C Service Coordination.

The purposes of this web page are to:

  • Provide families with useful information related to service coordination as required by Part C of IDEA.
  • Provide service coordinators with useful tools, resources, and information that will help them to better “connect” families and children within SC’s Part C program to appropriate services.

Content for this page is selected with regard to the description of “service coordination” provided in Part C of the IDEA, as well as evidence-based and recommended practices in early childhood special education.  In addition, consideration is given to the significant role of Service Coordination providers in addressing Office of Special Education Program (OSEP) identified outcomes for children and families.
