Introduction
The SCMLA Annual Meeting will be held October 2 – October 6, 2016 at the Westin Poinsett in beautiful Greenville, SC. Tara Douglas-Williams, Program-Chair and her Committee are planning an engaging meeting you do not want to miss. A special thank you to Jerrold Mobley, Morehouse School of Medicine, for designing our 2016 annual meeting logo. Fay Towell and the local arrangements team are busy planning an awesome meeting and scheduling a few tours for your enjoyment. The 2016 Theme is “ Re-Think IT: The Evolving Landscape of Libraries. IT is capitalized to represent whatever your Libraries' IT is. Maybe it is re-designing/repurposing space, adding innovative services or programs, information literacy and outreach projects in the community, collaborating in research and data management, patient care and improving outcomes. Whatever you decide IT is time to Re-Think to enhance your Library we would love for you to share. The 1st General session speaker will be Dr. Kimberly Skarupski, Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Associate Professor, Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University – School of Medicine. We are looking forward to an engaging conversation with her on the changing landscape of academic medicine. We are also excited to announce there will be a Leadership Panel discussion led by Sandra Franklin, Shannon Jones, Ruth Riley and M.J. Tooey. The speaker for our final general session will be Irfan Asif, M.D., Vice Chair, Academics and Research, Director, Sports Medicine Fellowship. Also, the Roundtable Luncheon will return this year. Please don’t forget to place the dates on your calendar. We hope to see you there!
Best regards,
