The USC School of Medicine Library has a small collection of pamphlets, mostly from the late 1800s. Pamphlets from Schering and Glatz, Park, Davis & Co., Lambert Pharmaceutical Co., H. K. Mulford Co., Johnson and Johnson and others are represented in the collection.
These items are representative of information for physicians that was distributed by pharmaceutical companies of the period. This source of information was likely the easiest way for local physicians to keep current on new drug and treatment options, serving as continuing education resources.
Many items here are collections of reprints of abstracts, excerpts and reports from the medical literature about a specific pharmaceutical product or a medical treatment. Other items that are included in this collection are price lists, flyers, and dosage and instruction sheets.
More items will be digitized and added to the collection in the future.
If you enter a term of interest in the search box, all digital files will be searched.
