Supports Intensity Scale (SIS)

DESCRIPTION:

The Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) was developed by the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) over a five year period and is designed to measure the relative intensity of support that each person needs to fully participate in community life. This assessment focuses on level of supports needed by a person instead of deficits in a person’s skills. All interviewers are required to receive special training and pass certification prior to administering the assessment.  They are reassessed yearly to maintain reliability.

For information regarding scheduling, please contact Kristin Penninger, Administrative Assistant, at kristin.penninger@uscmed.sc.edu or (803) 935-5625.

All other inquiries, please contact Doreen Chapel, Program Director, at doreen.chapel@uscmed.sc.edu or (803) 546-3416.
