The South Carolina and Louisiana Community Development Project

The Community Development Project aids two communities in two states (one urban and one rural in each state), through local coalitions, in identifying and addressing locally relevant issues.

• Activities build the community's assets while at the same time enhancing inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
• Technical assistance focuses on teaming skills and coalition activities; community development needs assessments and planning and cultural awareness (including people with disabilities).

Abbeville County is addressing recreation issues for youth ages 8-13.

Greenville County is addressing county transportation issues for all citizens.
