Attendant Care
Project
The Attendant Care Project was established in
1996 in an effort to promote personal care choices among
participants eligible for services under five Medicaid waivers: the
Community Choices Waiver, HIV/AIDS Waiver, the Mechanical Ventilator
Dependent Program, the Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI), and the
Mental Retardation and Related Disorders (MR/RD) Waivers. Attendant
Care facilitates the enrollment of attendant(s) of the participant’s
choosing as providers. Attendants are reimbursed for the services
they provide with Medicaid funds. Currently, there are well over
2000 enrolled providers serving over 2200 participants located
throughout the state.
